VAN NUYS, CA – The Civic Ambassadors, a community group of neighborhood leaders and former elected officials, are launching the “Health Is Wealth” campaign throughout the Southern California area. (www.civicambassadors.org)
“In this time of uncertainty and change because of the Coronavirus, the constant pursuit of becoming healthier is becoming more important and evident than ever before. Starting and beginning training for a 5,000-meter run can be life changing, and is also a perfect activity during this shelter in place order we are currently living under,” said Civic Ambassadors Spokesman George Christopher Thomas.
“One of the few things people can do during this Coronavirus pandemic is get outside for a run or jog. And becoming healthier is a noble and fine endeavor for all people no matter what your current fitness level is or age. During this shelter in place order, the peace and solace you will find as you train for your 5K will be like receiving gifts of life-giving joy. Plus, there is no better way to get off your couch than to sign up for that 5K, and have at it,” said Civic Ambassadors Spokesman George Christopher Thomas.
”The registration page is the same (http://iamabove.racewire.com/). Participants are able to run/walk whenever, and wherever. Runners will have until Sunday, May 24, 2020 to submit times, which can be done through a link on our registration page. The link is available in the confirmation email as well. We ask when participants finish their run, they post a picture with #LiveAbove and tag us @ncaddsfv on Instagram. Participants will receive their finisher packages via mail, which will contain a medal and t-shirt as well as surprise goodies. Everything is still absolutely free!” said race organizer Alma Huerta.
